Saturday Fun

Just thought I would check in and say that yesterday was absolutely awesome. Started off around 12:30 at the beer fest, althought the weather reports called for MAJOR thunderstorms all day, the beer festival was a blast. It was a little overcast and very humid and around 89 degree's, which made for a great day of drinking exotic beers. I hsd sbout 20 different beers, from hefferfiesens ( hope I spelled that right) to lagers and ales. All were great for the most part, but I actually liked some of these flavored beers they were pushing, from Rapberry, to chocolate and apple. I must admit this apple beer was freaking awesome. Im not sure if it was because it was ice cold or what but I can still envision the taste of it. Best part of the festival though was that there were some damn hot women there and it was a single guys dream to be to see, did I mention I love summer...the clothing, the cleavage and the tans.....enough said. The day only got better after that. As I mentioned in my previous post, Dave Matthews was the plan for the evening entertainment. We left the beer fest around 4:30 and headed to show. Upon arrival after waiting in a 3 mile long back up gwtting into the show, I could tell it was gonna be amazing. For those of you who dont know, Dave Matthews was raised in Northern Virginia and it showed by the fan supposrt last night. Nissan Pavillion hold roughly 30,000 people and its an ampi-theather so there is always room to squeeze in a few more, the sold out crowd was announced at 43000. Anyway upon arrival we immediately parked and began to tailgate since the show didnt start til 7, and Dave wasnt expected on until 8:30. Did I mention I love summer....lol. The beer fest was hot, but the women at the show were hotter and I mean that literally, I have never seen more ass or cleavage at any other show and I have been to alot. Did I mention that it started lightly raining. It was like a wet t-shirt competition, meets mud wrestling. As the night grew on it began to rain even harder, fortunately I had seats in the 13th row under the pavillion and was saved, because by the time Dave got on it was a full blown monsoon, it rained like that for 45 minutes and the crowd was loving it. Beach balls and balloons flying everywhere, boobies being flashed, and nakedness and the effervescense of marijuana in the air. Upon one trip to the mens room ( mind you by this time I had the 20 (6oz beers at the fest and half case at the show along with a few frozen margarita's) I needed to drain the vein, it reminded me of the 2nd Woodstock, the mud people were everywhere and the concourse was flooded with streams of mud. Ok Ok... I know stop babbling, Dave was amazing actually and I think it was because of the rain and the threat of serious lightening, he came on a little earlier then expected at around 8:15. He played alot of new songs that I havent heard yet, but he played alot of classic Dave from Dancing Nancies, Wharehouse and Crash Into Me, the crowd loved it, he played for 2 and 1/2 hours and I dont think anyone in the crowd ever sat down, looking back behind me at the sea of people was amazing ezpecially with the lighting at the show, just a constant flow arms and swaying as far as the eyes could see. As is typical of Dave, he walked off the stage only to come back 5 minutes later. He greeted the crowd, with a big "Thank You" and how it was always nice to be home. He immediately lead right into "WatchTower" which is one of my personal favorites and the crowd sung along with him and it was very very intense, feeling 43,000 people behind you screamin and singing at the top of there lungs. He finished with "Let it Burn" and the crowd sensing the end finally started to relax and let him sing it, if you have never seen Dave live I highly recommend you do, his music is real and his band puts on a great show ( every guest always plays there heart out, its not electronic as most music is these days, and his rhythm and beats are truly poetic. Of course it never hurts to be in the right mind frame. I had an amazin weekend and lots of fun Im glad its over though cause its gonna take a few days to recooperate.

Dave is AWESOME. I've seen him twice and the only thing I didn't like was that he didn't sing Everyday..and I really only got upset because I wanted to just randomly hug people around me :-D And for the record, I don't believe the clarification AT ALL!! lol!!

Sounds like a fun time to me - I went to a DMB show two years ago - way too hot though other than that it was an amazing show. One of the best shows I've ever seen and made me a DMB fan.
